Welcome to Yogi Designs by Sarah

Welcome to "Notes from the Workbench". This is the face behind Yogi Designs. Many of you may already know me from social media—I’ve been creating unique, handcrafted pieces since 2020. The photo you see here is me carrying the very first tote bag I ever made. From that moment on, I’ve continued to grow as an artist, creating all kinds of pieces for people across the country—and now around the world.

I created “Notes from the Workbench” as a place to share what’s happening behind the scenes—new pieces, ideas in the works, and everything that doesn’t always make it onto the homepage. We’ll see where it goes—maybe it turns into something even more.

Creating is something I truly have a passion for. I’m one of those people who can see something in my mind and then bring it to life. A friend once told me that was a gift meant to be shared with the world—and I took that to heart. I’m incredibly humbled that people love my work. I’ve met some amazing people along this journey and hope to meet many more.

A bit about me—I’m a Native American Cree from Canada. I’ve worked in the United States since 1998 and have lived in Arizona since 2001. I’ve been a full-time OTR truck driver for over 27 years, creating and selling my work on my days off.

Which brings me to my gemstones… lol. I started incorporating them into my pieces and quickly built a large collection. At one point I thought, “I should start a Facebook group and sell some of these—I’ll never use them all.” That was the beginning. Instead of shrinking my collection, I found myself ordering more, building relationships with suppliers, and before I knew it—I had a full gemstone and crystal shop.

I ❤️ Gemstones” is my Facebook group. You may see it mentioned in my videos or posts and wonder what it is—now you know! I share special deals there and updates on new stones added to the site. It’s still a bit of a work in progress as I move hundreds of stones onto the website, but the goal is to create a better overall shopping experience. There are even large carvings and pieces in the group that haven’t made it onto the site yet.

There was a time when I was going nonstop—getting up at 4 in the morning and working until late at night on my days off, building this dream piece by piece. I was so busy creating that I even started thinking about stepping away from truck driving altogether. Then life forced me to slow down. After experiencing a serious heart attack, everything shifted. It gave me a new perspective—not just on my work, but on time, balance, and what truly matters.

These days, I still pour my heart into everything I create—but I do it with more intention, more balance, and a deeper appreciation for the journey.

Which brings me to this website. For a couple of years, I knew I needed a space of my own. I spent time on Etsy, but eventually the fees—around 20%—just weren’t worth it anymore. Around the same time, Facebook suspended my Yogi page. With everything happening at once, I decided it was time to build something of my own—even if I didn’t fully realize what I was getting into, lol.

Building this site has been extremely time-consuming and, at times, overwhelming. Adding all of my gemstones turned it into what felt like a never-ending task. But as I’ve learned more and continued to grow, what once felt overwhelming is now starting to fall into place… and I’m finally finding my rhythm.

Thank you for being here and taking the time to learn a little about me and my journey. Everything I create is made with intention, heart, and a deep love for what I do—and for the people it’s made for.

If you’re interested in a custom piece, feel free to reach out through the contact form—I’d love to create something just for you.
